Brilliant Work Of Mike Birbiglia

Born on June 20, 1978, Mike Birbiglia is an American comedian, actor and author known for his show ‘Sleepwalk With Me’ which is a fusion of monologue, comedy, stand-up and confession. He was raised in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and developed interest in comedy acting when he saw Steven Wright performing at an early age. In 2000s, he started performing on stage in New york and Washington D.C. His ‘My Secret Public Journal’ segment first appeared on ‘This American Life’, where he contributed frequently.
 Since 2004, he released his one stand-up comedy special and four stand-up albums. Some of them are ‘Dog Years’, ‘Two Drink Mike’, ‘What I Should Have Said Was Nothing’ and ‘Sleepwalk With Me Live’. Sleepwalk with me brought a huge fame for Mike. It was named as the ‘Show of the year’ by Times Out New york. The show was based on his sleeping disorder. This show received Outer Critic Circle and Drama Desk nominations as well as brilliant critical notices.
His show turned book turned movie ‘Sleepwalk with Me’ and ‘Other Painfully True Stories’ won Audience Award at Sundance 2012. He also won ECNY award in 2003 for Best Male Stand-up. He regularly appeared as guest on the radio program ‘The Bob and Tom Show’. ‘My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend’, Mike’s second individual show was released in Newyork in 2011. This show ran for almost four months off-Broadway in Newyork and toured the show in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. This show earned him ‘Lucille Lortel Award’ for “Outstanding Solo Show”.
