Robert De Niro comedic role in The Intern

Robert De Niro was born in New York in 1943 and started acting at the age of 20. He has acted in lead roles in more than 90 films.

“The Intern” is an American comedy written and directed by Nancy Meyers. The lead roles in the movie are played by Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway.

Robert De Niro plays Ben Whittaker, a 70 year-old retired widower who wants to fill his life with activities and spend quality time to escape boredom. He applies as a senior intern for a local internet start-up and once he becomes an intern, he works with young co-workers with a smile on his face. His role changes and he gradually begins to guide his boss as a good friend in both personal and professional ways. De Niro plays a quiet, old-fashioned gentleman who is really comfortable with who and where he is in his life. This has a positive effect on everyone.

He walks around the office with a smile on his face, and his maturity benefits the young co-workers.

The chemistry he creates, his rapport on the screen, dialogue delivery, humour, and expressions are what make Robert De Niro great. In this movie he has proved that he is a brilliant and an accomplished actor and he is capable of being funny too.
